Used youth saddle - Top quality on a smaller scale
A used youth saddle is essentially the same as a used adult saddle, the only difference being the size of the saddle, in particular, the seat.
When searching for a used youth saddle the same rules apply as with an adult model. Check the saddle for excessive wear and tear, in particular the areas that are safety concerns, namely around the cinch or girth and the billets on an English saddle. The billets on an English saddle tend to stretch and the holes can become enlarged, so check this area very carefully.
If you are not experienced in checking and fitting a used youth saddle, be sure to find someone knowledgeable to help you. If the used youth saddle needs extensive repair work it may end up costing a lot more than you had initially thought. Keep in mind that a saddle that is not the correct size for your horse is of little use to anyone, so bypass any saddle that is not a good fit.
