Wintec: Information on the Wintec saddle
Since 1943 Perth, Australia has been the home of Bates Saddlery, owned by the Bates brothers. Together, these brothers would design the first Wintec saddle, a revolutionary idea that would take the horse racing world by storm.
Following a failed attempt to used kangaroo hide to design a better saddle, the search was on for a suitable foam based material. It was discovered that by attaching a piece of cloth to a foam backing and lamination, it was possible to create a lightweight and very durable saddle.
The early wintec saddle line were developed for the horse racing industry, and were available in blue, red, pink, and yellow, leading the way to today’s models. Available in Equisuede and Equileather, Wintec saddles are now available for virtually any discipline, from dressage to western pleasure. The materials used in the making of a Wintec saddle are UV resistant and cleanup easily with just the use of soap and water.
Now available in over 20 countries the world over, Wintec is truly changing the way the world looks at saddles, offering horsemen a new and exciting option in horse saddlery.
