Barrel saddle pad - a high tech option
Ever since the saddle was invented, ranging from a simple piece of cloth, to a Navaho rug, there have always been saddle pads of some description. As horsemanship and technology have developed the saddles and tack that we use, items like the barrel saddle pad have followed along.
Barrel racing over the years has become more and more competitive, and every advance that is thought to give even a small advantage over another competitor is excitedly tested. It is no surprise that the barrel saddle pad has become such a welcome addition.
Technological advances in barrel saddle pads include air cushioning, close contact cutouts under the leg, round skirts, multilayering to prevent pressure points, and even a lock down design to prevent saddle shifting. There really is no limit to the way the barrel saddle pad is advancing, and no end in site to the improvements in the future.
