Western saddlery: Information on western saddlery

Western saddlery is a term used to decribe saddles, tack and horse supplies designed for the western horse industry. Western saddles are available in all purpose models or specially designed styles for differing interests.

There are hundreds of saddle makers the world over building all types of western saddlery, from custom reining, cutting or barrel racing saddles to endurance styles. Synthetic saddles such as the models made by Wintec, are now making a breakthrough in the western horse industry, although they are gaining a foot hold, it is doubtful that they will ever be as popular as the traditional leather western saddles.

Included in the term “western saddlery” are many related items designed for the western horse industry, including saddle blankets, headstalls, breast collars and gear designed to protect horses during competition and training.
