Wintec saddles - Shop down under!
Bates Saddlery, founded in 1934 in Perth, Australia, is run by Ron Bates, who with his brother, designed and developed today’s Wintec saddles. Following an unsuccessful attempt to use kangaroo hide for a lighter weight saddle in the 1980’s, the search was on for a suitable foam material. It was possible to design a lightweight, and very durable saddle by attaching a piece of cloth onto foam backing and using lamination, resulting in a very durable saddle. Using this extraordinary idea, Wintec saddles were to take the horse racing industry by storm.
The first wintec saddles available were the racing models and came in blue, red, pink and yellow. Wintec uses state of the art materials like equisuede and equileather and offer saddle models for virtually any discipline, from dressage to western pleasure and endurance. The materials used in making a Wintec saddle are all UV resistant, are non slip, even when wet ,and will clean up quickly and easily with just soap and water.
Today’s Wintec saddles are known the world over as being top of the line saddles, and can be found in more than 20 different countries. With the racing world rapidly changing over to these saddles, it did not take long for the rest of the international horse industry to take notice. Wintec english saddles are still gaining in popularity, and are one of the highest selling brand name saddles in the world.
