Mexican saddles - History repeats itself
Mexican saddles are evolved from the Spanish saddles that were so popular around the turn of the century. These original saddles can still be found at antique auctions and in museums the world over.
As interest in these saddles is constantly growing, some saddle makers are designing and building these beautiful saddles as replicas, to be used as both decorative and working Mexican saddles. Because these saddles are built by top saddle makers, these replicas are a great testimony to the Mexican saddles of the past.
These Mexican saddles are very popular as parade saddles because of their beauty, and can be used as ranch saddles because of their craftsmanship. While some improvements have been made, for the most part these saddles are true replicas, built the way saddle makers intended them to be made, with original designs and complete dedication and attention to detail.
As more western saddle makers take an interest in these beautiful saddles we can be confident that the future of Mexican saddles will be just as bright as the past.
