Ansur saddle - the treeless revolution

Learning from his own experience with his horse Bronze, and in the clinics he taught, Peter De Cosmo, envisioned a saddle without a rigid tree. Turning to saddle maker Bill Huston with the idea, the Ansur saddle was born. The first Ansur saddle was a prototype called the “mach one” and Peter took it to all his clinics, having his students try the prototype, collecting information towards improving the saddle’s design.

With the Ansur saddle actually molding itself to the shape of the horses back, it moves with the horse instead of against him. By moving the stirrup placements, the riders weight is more evenly distributed than with a conventional saddle, allowing freedom of movement and making your horse much more comfortable.

There is an Ansur saddle for virtually every discipline from jumping to pleasure, from trail to dressage saddles. With these saddles having the ability to conform to a horse’s anatomy, they can fit nearly every size and shape of horse. Only time will tell, but maybe treeless saddle are the “Ansur”. Ansur saddles are available through saddle dealers the world over and through Ansur themselves, take a look on the internet for more information.
