Wintec saddles - a revolutionary change.

Founded in 1934 in Perth, Australia, Bates Saddlery is run by Ron Bates, who with his brother, designed Wintec saddles. In the 1980’s, following an unsuccessful attempt to use kangaroo hide for a lighter weight saddle, the search was on for a suitable foam material. By attaching a piece of cloth onto foam backing and using lamination, it was possible to design a lightweight, and very durable saddle. Thanks to this radical idea, Wintec saddles were about to take the horse racing industry by storm.

The first wintec saddles were racing models and came in blue, red, pink and yellow. Wintec uses revolutionary materials like equisuede and equileather and offer saddles for virtually any discipline, from dressage to western pleasure. The materials used in making a Wintec saddle are uv resistant, clean up easily with just soap and water, and are non slip, even when wet.

Wintecs are known the world over as a top of the line saddle, and can be found in more than 20 different countries. With the racing world falling in love with these saddles, it did not take long for the rest of the horse industry to take notice. With their popularity still on the rise, Wintec Saddles are one of the highest selling brand name saddles in the world.
