Treeless saddles - the future is now
With today’s advances in the horse industry, it’s not surprising that changes occur quickly. What may be more surprising, is that advances like treeless saddles have taken so long to come about. The rigid tree we have all grown up with, be it wooden or fibreglass, for some horses, may soon become a thing of the past.
Instead of the solid core tree, the newly designed treeless saddles are based on a concept using the layering of soft leather which then shapes itself to your horses back. A rigid tree saddle has a solid framework with no flexibility, sometimes causing strain to your horses back and shoulder muscles.
Whether you are searching for a dressage, trail, endurance, pleasure, or jumping saddle, all are available without a tree. Some of the people who have made the switch to the new treeless saddles find their horses much happier, moving more freely, and with a bigger stride! It may be too soon to tell if the new treeless saddles are just a fad, or if they truly are the wave of the future. With more and more companies carrying them, is the ultimate saddle just around the corner?
